Overeasy, an
eclectic rock band from CT, delivers it's own brand of
instrumentals paired with vocals ranging from melodic to
story-telling.
The band's rhythm section, comprised of Matt Schomaker
on drums and Brent Couture on bass, have been
solidifying their groove since High School.
John Capobianco and
Dustin Page on guitars complete the four piece.
After years of recreational jamming, Over Easy was
formed and played their first show on St. Patrick's Day
in Milford last year.
Focused song writing and a love for music make this band
a must listen.
Mark Garthwait began as a drummer at age 8. By age
14, he was playing clubs and expanding to guitar,
bass, and piano. Through the 90's Mark rode the
Ct/NY/Mass heavy music circuit as the lead guitarist
for the band Hooked, and shared the stage with
national acts such as The Mighty Mighty Bosstones,
Hatebreed, and Murphys Law. His music has had
airplay on 104.1 WMRQ, 88.7 WNHU, 89.3 WAMH,
and
90.1 WECS.
Mark is currently writing music for a self-produced
instrumental CD entitled Caldera, which he describes
as "trance-hypnotic mood music".
The Joe Miller Group
is made up of four guys out of Cheshire, CT. Chris
Ferraro on the Drums, Donovan Tracey on the Piano and
keyboards, Ben Pascale on the Bass, and Joe Miller on
the Guitar and Vocals. The Group are an original act who
sound like a mixed influence of The Rolling Stones mixed
in with Chuck Berry and the sounds of 60's and 70's Rock
n Roll.
Formed by
singer/songwriter of the group Joe Miller and Chris
Ferraro in the summer of 2003, the Joe Miller Group has
over 140 original songs and mix a repertoire of rock n
roll covers into their live show.
Josie Crosby has been playing throughout New England
for the last five years. She is a prolific
songwriter with a generous catalog of original
material. Her songs delve into the emotional side of
world and personal events, drawing the listener in
with her powerful vocal styling. She has recently
joined forces with some of South County's most
talented musicians and they are shaping into a new
and innovative band.
Although it is nearly impossible to confine this
group to one genre, one could describe them as
roots-infused rock. Their use of tone and
dynamics lock onto the listener as the lyrics engage
the mind.
Gena
Ross co-wrote a musical with Robert Stone called Bigger
Fish to Fry and it played in Times Square.
Gena has
spent the last 2 years of my life writing and recording
this album.
She has
taken voice lessons,...but other than that has
never had any musical training.
She can play instruments to write music- but, you'd
laugh if she tried to play you a song and sing it at the
same time. I write my songs and I couldn't tell you how
to hell I played it- I do it once and it's in Ron's
hands..
New Earth is
a fun, three-piece band of singer/
songwriters, dedicated to presenting a variety
of songs they’ve written.
The band is
professional and the music is
appropriate for all ages.
Paul, Jerry, and Tom have decades of
songwriting and performing experience and
have been together as New Earth since 1999.
Much of New
Earth’s music is written in the
style of the great music from the late 60’s and
early 70’s, but have been known to mix in
blues, reggae, country and adult
contemporary songs.
From the first note at the
Hartford Civic Center Stage in the early 70’s,
sharing the bill with Don McLean you knew Brian
MacDonald was ready for the big bang. Soon after
appearing with the likes of James Taylor, Southside
Johnny, James Montgomery, Ben E. King, Al Anderson
and countless others, Brian was poised for a
successful career.
Through a career which has included, music for the
Planet of the Apes television show, singing jingles
for Mattel Hot Wheels or Weebles, music supervisor
for a Smokin Joe Frazier record, co-producer for
Jazz legend Larry Young, to performing his own music
for over the past 25 years,
Brian has kept the dream
alive.
Formed from the ashes
of critically acclaimed Big Deal recording artists
Hannah Cranna, The Naomi Star craft their own brand
of pop-rock, swirling together the ringing guitars
and catchy melodies of such British Invasion giants
as:
The Beatles, The Kinks and The Who with the
driving grooves and emotional intimacy of American
folk-pop.
Amazon Charlie
& The Tractors were founded in early November 2006.
After an encounter between Guitarist Jeff Nortonen
and Drummer Nick Maycock things started to kick into
overdrive. Nick suggested to Jeff "We need to start
a good ol' Rock n Roll Band". Jeff was in and Nick
knew who would fit the other roles.
Jeff Nortonen
also placed 2nd in the ENTIRE NATION, for "Guitar
Center's annual King of the Blues Guitar
Competition."
The Michael
Cleary band is a Hartford institution. They are celebrating
their 16th year of making original blues/rock music with a
twist and have been called Hartford's answer to the Allman
Brothers.
Their shows have been described as great songs,
monstrous solos, epic jams, funky grooves, wacky humor; all
in all a diverse, joyous musical stew played and sung by
talented musicians who have been performing together for
nearly 16 years. The MCB is a perennial favorite in the
Hartford Advocate's reader's poll and previous winners of
the "Best Rock" and "Best Blues" categories.
H is a singer/songwriter
based out of the Hartford, CT area, playing emotional,
driven pop-rock songs designed to pull at your heart-strings
while at the same time, keep your ears ringing with pure
Rock & Roll goodness.
H is also an entertainer,
putting his own spin on tunes by some of your favorite
artists. By himself, and occasionally with the help of The
Real Class Acts, H knows how to bring the party!
Otherwise is
refined energy. The band fuses hard reggae and electronica
to form a relentless, crowd-shaking experience. Their lyrics
are engaging and inspiring, exploring love, social change,
and the catharsis of music and dance. Starting as a four
piece outfit in 2002, the band has evolved in many stages
and in many ways.
Creating their own studio to record and
distribute their music; creating and running their own music
festival--Festivus
Music Festival--to
help promote area music scene; and recently adding a
fifth member, DJ Lock Mess, formerly of Zigs and Bats
Circus, Lynch, Acidental Groove, and others.
Born in
Philadelphia., PA, Gale started lessons at four years old.
In elementary school, she was told she was the most gifted
musician in her class. At 11 years old, she quit piano, took up
guitar & voice, & by 15yo was composing instrumentals &
songs for piano & guitar. At 20, she had her 1st gig, also
singing at weddings for family & friends.
As an adult she studied with an internationally
recognized pianist, vocalist, & guitarist/autoharpist (Peter
Pertis/Nancy Anderson, Hartt School of Music faculty, &
Harvey Reid, National / International Guitar/Autoharp
Champ).
METACOMET
features shimmering vocal harmonies, daring
bass guitar work, and ultra-tight drumming.
But this innovative Connecticut trio doesn’t
stop
there.
Siblings Jill O’Brien (vocals), Joe O’Brien
(bass, vocals) and drummer Mike Keyes focus
on creating great songs.
The band
draws the audience into their show with
unforgettable original material, along with
edgy takes on classics by The Who, Talking
Heads, Blondie, Johnny Cash and many others.
Their surprising musical arrangements,
powerful originals, showmanship, and
laid-back sense of humor keep fans coming
back.
